As part of my search for an engagement ring for my now-fiance, I approached ken & dana with a rough design for a custom-made ring. I had spoken with other designers and retailers of various sizes, but ken & dana were the only ones who were able to not only capture the look I wanted but to also introduce me to certain design ideas that truly enhanced the ring’s overall effect. In short time, they produced a ring that my fiance could not be happier with. The ring is exceptional – flawless materials, clean lines, perfect proportions – and ken & dana’s skill and dedication to the process are clearly evident in the end result.

I have one of the ‘Loving Day’ rings from the RIGHTS collection. I absolutely love this unique ring. I just got married, and plan on using it as my wedding band when I don’t wear my set (I work in a lab, so it happens). As an interracial couple, I really enjoy telling people the history behind the ring, and using it to spark discussion on various social issues. I’ve had quite a few compliments on it, in addition to inquiries as to what other pieces you have to offer. You are truly amazing artists as well as designers. I’ve been a long-time fan of your work, and I now a proud bearer of one of your pieces.

Ken + Dana designed fantastic rings for our engagement & later for our wedding. They were great in helping create pieces that fit what we were looking for in terms of style and feel. The wifey gets compliments from strangers about her engagement ring.

Ken + Dana helped me get my engagement ring and it went over very well. Their attention to detail and customer service got me exactly what I wanted for a good price from the picking of the stone to the perfect setting.
I have since seen their other collections and have purchased other items as gifts that have also been a hit. Their creative, interesting pieces mixed with socially conscious themes make their pieces unique.

Having bought an engagement ring from Ken + Dana over the net without having actually seen the ring for real until it was delivered, I have to say it did’nt disappoint. The ring was fantastic and looked even better than it did in the photos.
Ken + Dana were a pleasure to deal with and were very fast with their delivery, which was a relief as I needed it to arrive before we left for India, as we got engaged over there. Would highly recommend them to anyone.

After engagement ring shopping for almost a year, we finally decided on rings from the Ken + Dana Design bridal collection.
Because we are a same sex couple, however, we have been riding the up and downs of the California Proposition 8 trial. As it stands for the time being, we can not marry in our home state. In recognition of that fact, we have purchased the Romer v. Evans loving rings from Ken + Dana’s rights collection to serve as engagement rings until we do have the right to marry.
The purchase process was fast and simple, the rings arrived quickly and far exceeded our expectations. Just in the last few days it has been really great looking down at our rings as a reminder that we are not second class citizens, and that someday we will have full equal protection under the law. We also received a follow up email asking not only how we like our rings, but asking for any suggestions or comments for future designs.
It has been a complete pleasure to conduct business with Ken + Dana Design and I can’t wait to order our bridal jewelry from them when we have the right to marry (although I’m sure I’ll be ordering some of their other jewelry in the meantime).

After an utterly disappointing trip to Smythe Jewlers, I realized I was going to have to come up with something a little more original if I wanted an exceptional engagement ring for my fiancee to be. I stumbled onto the Ken + Dana website during my internet perusal, and I fell in love with their Organic Aurora Engagement ring. It is absolutely stunning, and I knew it would be perfect for my lady.
I live in Baltimore and went up to NYC for the day to meet with Ken, Dana, and Radika. They were incredibly welcoming from the moment I got there and were happy to spend over an hour with me talking about different settings, their process, and answering all of my questions. They were incredibly personable, and it felt right having these people create the ring that I would give to my future wife.
The ring turned out beautifully, and they were able to incorporate a family diamond that I had provided. They shipped it down to me in Maryland, and I have been engaged since October.
We were so thrilled with the final product that we are planning on asking them to create our wedding bands as well!
If you are looking for beautiful, hand crafted jewelry and personal attention, I would strongly recommend Ken + Dana design.

My husband and I set out shopping for the perfect engagement ring together. After going to all the places I thought that one day I would by my ring, from THE CLAY POT to Michael C. Fina, nothing.
We were soo fortunate to be introduced to KEN + DANA ‘s work through a relative who owns several of their B-Side pieces.
Once we went into their studio and saw the pieces from the bridal line in person, we knew our search was over.
This team’s attention to personal detail to our concerns about diamond and metal sourcing went above and beyond. Our diamond selection process was fun and relaxed. They made sure we were completely confident in our choices. No pressure ever!
The symbolism and creativity in their designs are stunning.
Not only do we have the perfect engagement ring and band for me (the bride) but we also have an amazing memory of the whole journey.

Simply said, it’s impossible to be any happier than I am with Ken + Dana Design.
We never actually met in person, nor did I personally inspect their work before deciding on the Organic Daya engagement ring, but Ken’s knowledge, attention to detail, and amazing customer service kept me comfortable and calm through the entire process.
The ring arrived very quickly, and it took my breath away when I opened the box. Their craftsmanship is absolutely stunning. It was exactly was I was looking for: organic lines, natural beauty, and full of symbolism.. Just a wonderful setting for the sapphire that I provided.
It was risky picking out a ring and stone without my fiancee’s input, but it turned out perfectly, and she LOVES it. Thanks Ken + Dana Design! Look forward to working with you for our wedding bands in 2012!

My boyfriend, Rick, proposed to me today and I just wanted to send you my thanks and praises for the ring. He proposed to me with the Jasmine engagement ring and I have to say I was overwhelmed when he did it, but even more so when I saw it was the ring that I wanted. I have always been in love with your jewelry, but never more so than with this ring. It fits me so perfectly! Of course I said yes!
Looking forward to getting our wedding bands with Ken + Dana Designs as well!

My fiance and I bought my engagement ring from ken + dana, and we couldn’t be happier.
I spent a long time looking at engagement rings, online and in person, and really came to feel that they all look alike. I’ve heard women get all worked up about whether a ring has 6 prongs instead of 4, as if this is the stuff of art. I found ken + dana on the web, in a search for Gaudi-inspired designs. I love their use of natural forms–leafy shapes, branching, twists and swoops–in many of their engagement rings.
I live in SF, but was able to visit the studio in NYC in December. We talked to Ken in person: he was friendly and helpful, answering our questions and offering advice. I also love that they think outside the “diamond + platinum/yellow-gold” box. Ken showed us a combination of a yellow-gold ring with a citrine in it, paired with a rose-gold band; the yellow stone really brought out the warmth of the rose gold. We ended up choosing a yellow diamond (which we purchased from another source) and the yellow-gold setting. We spent a long time researching stones, and Ken helped answer some of our questions, and found examples of other yellow gold + yellow diamond rings, so we could tell if we liked the combination. We’re planning to come back to get the rose-gold wedding band.
As other reviewers have said, my ring is more than a ring: it’s a piece of art on my hand, and I love wearing it and looking at it.

My fiancé and I were looking for the perfect engagement ring, something organic and unique, that doesn’t really look like a typical engagement ring. I didn’t want a diamond [that whole industry wigs me out], or anything that could resemble a diamond, and I didn’t want something plain like an ordinary wedding band. Also, I was interested in a statement piece that was timeless, dainty without being twee, and if possible, reasonably priced.
The Gaudi inspired wedding band was the answer to all of this. It is thin, and deceptively strong, with a gorgeous rhodium focal point that wears with time to give it an antique look. No gemstones, classic, visually interesting, and frankly, fun to twist around on your finger.
We live in Chicago, and they were excellent about providing information and photos via email, so the distance was not a problem. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for unique pieces of jewelry.

Two years later and I’m still getting complemented about my custom wedding ring from Ken + Dana. This time, from a complete stranger on the subway. This seems to happen on a regular occurrence … all bc of Ken & Dana. Thanks guys – couldn’t be happier w/my ring.

I’ll be honest, when my fiance proposed to me I didn’t want to look down at the ring. The proposal was a complete shock because we hadn’t talked about rings in such a long time. In the past when I had looked at rings, I could never find anything that I loved. I wanted something beautiful, classic, extremely unique, and most of all, something that looked like me. When I finally looked down in that little black box, I was in awe. I couldn’t believe my fiance found something so perfect, so me. I literally stare at this ring all day. Ken + Dana couldn’t have made a more beautiful ring. After talking to my fiance about the process, he said Ken was fantastic in communicating with him and making sure he was happy with everything. I can not wait to get the wedding band to match the ring, it will make it even more beautiful and artistic. I seriously couldn’t be happier. Thanks so much Ken + Dana!!

I came across Ken and Dana via http://moxie.com. Initially, I was interested in their necklaces because of their message and unique design. I went in to buy one and my girlfriend and I peeped their engagement rings. When we eventually did decide to get married Ken and Dana (and Radika) were so helpful and gracious with their time. They sat with us and made sure we were comfortable with our purchase. They even helped outsource a jewelry for the diamond! If you are looking for a “Tiffany’s experience” this might not be your cup of tea, but if you want to feel like you are kickin back with some friends that actually care if you are happy with your significant purchase, then this is your place! And the ring… AMAZING!

Just an amazing experience. My boyfriend and I went there first to look at engagement rings and after looking at a few other places we went back to Ken + Dana’s and bought the first ring I tried on because nothing else really compared to it. Their designs are so intricate and unique! My stone was a very original ocean blue sapphire that was very reasonably priced. As for Ken, Dana and Radika, they were just the most pleasant down to earth people to deal with. They were very patient with me, upfront, and even came in before they open because the time was good for me. They followed up numerous times through email to send me photos and then to make sure I was happy. All in all, I was very happy to buy my ring from them.

My fiance and I had such a wonderful experience with Ken. As all the other reviews say, Ken was incredibly helpful, informative, flexible and willing to work with us. As most New Yorkers, the two of us have pretty hectic schedules, so he agreed to meet with us on a Saturday evening for the first appt, which was nice enough to begin with. Then, due to summer wknd train madness, we were an HOUR late for our appt. !! But Ken was kind, gracious, and still met with us to discuss the ring…
Speaking of which, it’s exactly what we wanted. My fiance’s mother had her engagement ring center stone reset, and so she gave Tim, my fiance, the original setting – the one she wore for 25 years of her marriage. Needless to say, it held a lot of value & significance for both of us, and we wanted to find a beautiful sapphire for the center. Tim was a little nervous about handing the ring over to someone else, but we knew that we were in good hands from the moment we met with Ken.
He talked with us about what we were looking for, measured us both (in case we decide to go with one of their gorgeous wedding band designs as well), photocopied the ring as a receipt of holding, and said he’d be in touch soon with some choices.
Not a week later, he emailed to let us know he’d found a couple stones, one in particular, that he thought would work well. He sent a photograph… and we both fell in love! The stone he found was perfect and completed the ring more beautifully than either of us could have imagined. Not to mention that Ken had done an incredible job of cleaning the ring – it now sparkles like a brand new setting.
Last week was my birthday – my fiance wanted to surprise me with the ring as a gift, and Ken was once again gracious to get it ready in time. On Thursday night, Tim took me out to dinner and at the end of an amazing meal, took out a lovely black velvet box with our perfect ring inside. : )
I can’t say enough great things about their jewelry, and how totally wonderful Ken was to work with!

When I started to talk about the possibility of an engagement in the near future, one of my girlfriend’s friends sent her a link to some of ken + dana’s designs that had been featured in a blog post somewhere. My girlfriend absolutely loved the rings. Noted.
I think it’s silly to not involve your gilfriend in the purchase of an extremely significant piece of jewelry that she’ll be wearing for the rest of her life, so I ordered a sample of one of ken + dana’s rings and had it sent to us. My girlfriend said that it was “the one.” That was good enough for me.
We took a trip down to New York to see their pieces in person; they were gorgeous, and Ken even agreed to go into the studio on Sunday to see us and answer any questions we had. He was very helpful and friendly — he even gave us an awesome, awesome lunch recommendation after the place we’d meant to go turned out to be closed.
I ended up buying a diamond at home, in Boston, and having it sent back to New York with a friend; they had the ring made within two weeks and shipped to me. I took it to an independent gemologist and appraiser, who said that it was the most unique ring he’d seen all year, and that it looked to be very well-crafted.
Ken was extremely helpful throughout the entire process, answering any emails/phone calls I sent his way, which is great when you’re having such an important thing built in a different city, away from your own two eyes. And the ring? It’s gorgeous — even to someone such as myself, who doesn’t care much for jewelry. My girlfriend — er, fiancee — is absolutely in love with it. Can’t recommend ken + dana highly enough! They made a potentially painful process very, very easy, with exceptional results to boot.

I love my Selene Wedding Band and Daya Engagement Ring. They go so well together! After searching for many months for a really pretty ring that wasn’t like all other rings out there, we found Ken + Dana. Even though we weren’t living in NY, the first chance I had to get there we made an appointment to see the rings first hand. Ken was really acomodating and helped us out with the entire process. After trying the rings on, there was no doubt we were getting them. I really love all their jewelry and hope to get some other pieces in the future.

My fiance and I were so pleased to find Ken + Dana. They did such a beautiful job of cleaning a family ring, finding a new stone, and setting it in a way that felt so natural and perfect.
Ken was a pleasure to work with, and was kind enough to put a rush on our order so that I could give my soon-to-be wife the ring on her birthday.
Thanks guys.

Ken + Dana rocks!! We were treated so well, from start to finish, and I am in love with my wedding band. Radika was incredibly patient with me – she let my try on so many different gorgeous rings, answering all my questions and staying in touch throughout the process. The ring was ready promptly and I am in love with it. Their rings aren’t like any others I’ve seen. If you want to wear something unique, handcrafted, and beautiful, go with Ken + Dana!

These guys rule! I first stumbled across their website in a search for a “non-conventional” engagement ring. I could not be happier with this discovery.
From the get-go, Ken was incredibly easy to work with. He helped me turn my idea into a product that was exactly what I was looking for. He quickly sourced a number of stones that fit my criteria and objectively helped me make a decision. He gave good advice in terms of where I would be overpaying for something and not really getting the value out of it. He gave great critiques of each ring, each metal, each stone, that were honest and also showed that he was paying very close attention to what I was looking for. He was really just helpful, nice, creative, and easygoing. No pressure. Zero attitude. And he followed thru on every promise. I couldn’t give enough praise to this, in what I’m sure can easily turn into a stressful not to mention expensive experience
Of the 4 times I was at their studio, I met Dana and his wife, Rad, twice. They were perfect complements to Ken’s style, and really helped me pull the trigger once I’d found the one that I liked. Together, they present a variety of different ideas and styles, that are also cohesive.
Overall it was just a great experience that I’d do again and again, but for the fact that I am madly in love with my present fiance — who, by the way, LOVES her ring!
